Boca Dam, Nevada Co., Calif. - a pair were on the ground, presumably foraging, at the roadside in a narrow sagebrush-grassland-valley amid open Jeffrey Pine forest. June 25 Truckee to Sierra City via State Rt. 89 - several seen in similar country. June 27 Truckee meadows S of Reno, Washoe Co., Nev. - several seen along US Route 395 in pastures & hay fields. June 28 E side Boca Reservoir, 5600 ft, Nevada Co., Calif. - 2 flew over sagebrush covered flat near Jeffrey Pines.
