Cogswell 1950 Zenaidura macroura June 22 5750 ft. 2 mi. E Truckee, Nevada Co., Calif. - 1 flying along Truckee River in open grassland-willow valley between sagebrush & Jeffrey Pine woodland on slopes all about. - 5750 ft. 2 mi. W. Boca Dam, Nevada Co., Calif. - a pair were on the ground, presumably foraging, at the roadside in a narrow sagebrush-grassland-valley amid open Jeffrey Pine forest. June 25 Truckee to Sierra City via State Rt. 89 - several seen in similar country. June 27 Truckee meadows S of Reno, Washoe Co., Nev. - several seen along US Route 395 in pastures & hay fields. June 28 E side Boca Reservoir, 5600 ft, Nevada Co., Calif. - 2 flew over sagebrush covered flat near Jeffrey Pines. July 12 Reno v vicinity, 4500 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 3 seen from highway thru grassy farmland July 26 about 10 seen on similar trip over same, - Heiger Lookout, 5540 ft. [illegible] 2 mi. E Steamboat Sprgs. Washoe Co., Nev. - 2 flew downslope over juniper- junipes woodland. - Little Washoe L, 5020 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - flock of 4 flew across sagebrush slope near lake, & 2 from grassy flat beyond lake. July 27 Drosser Cr., 5650 ft. 1 1/3 mi. E, 3 1/2 mi. N Truckee Nevada (p.m.) Co., Calif. - about 5 flushed from willow-dotted grassland along stream; sagebrush on nearby slopes. (p.m.) Little Truckee R valley, 5800 ft., Sierra Co., Calif. - 3 seen in 10 min. walk across similar, but larger, valley. One was flushed from a NEST (2eggs) placed on a bent-over willow branch about 3 ft. from mys
