2 flew over U.S. Route 40 in a forest of
black oak, yellow pine, & white fir.

3 on nearby N. facing slope which
has many manzaneta - ceanothus - cherry
thickets and a few oaks. The pigeons
perched in top of tall pine facing the
chaparral; 2 dropped down into
the shrubs.
