SE Steamboat Sprys, Washoe Co., Nev. 1 cruising over juniper-juniper woodland in mid- a.m. July 19 U.S. Route 40 enroute to Sacramento, Calif. - Several seen at various points below 3500 ft. alt. over forest brush (2 perched in dead trees), & grassland. July 26 - Seiger Grade [see above] - 1 over Little Washoe Lake , 5020 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 1 flying over sagebrush slopes and marshlands. July 27 Little Truckee R., 5800 ft., 3 mi. E, 5 mi. N Hobart Mills, Sierra Co., Calif.- Block of 6 ~~ flying in close circles & peeling off from top of updraft as tho migrating ( SW'ward). Aug. 5 5700 ft., 4 mi. NE Hobart Mills, Sierra Co., Calif. - 1 flying over arid Jeffrey pine forest and sagebrush. meat Verdi, 4900 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 1 high over grassy valley of Truckee River, Aug. 6 W. Side Carson Valley, 4700 ft., Douglas Co., Nev. 3 over sagebrush & grassland. (pastured). -Washoe Valley, 5000+ ft., Washoe Co., Nev.- about 10 overhead on ground (2) by drying marshes.
