Cogswell 1950 Casmerodius albus June 25 - Sierra Valley, 4880 ft. Sierra Co., Calif. - 1 seen flying over marshy pastureland in central part of valley. Aug. 23 Little Washoe Lake, 5020 ft. Washoe Co., Nev. about 8 present, wading well out in the shallow, weed filled lake now receded to about 15-20 acres in size. none were found here on 4 previous visits this summer. They are apparently post-breeding visitors. [In 1948 one was seen here in early July, & a few thru Aug.]
