Cogswell 1950 Podilymbus podiceps July 12.- Little Washoe Lake, 5020 ft. Washoe co., Nev. 2+ present. One of these was seen chasing the other across a stretch of open water by a stand of sparse Scirpus from which long "cow - cow - cow - cow" calls had just come. Later 2 different sets of such calls were heard at once. Aug. 9 2 seen. [These are the only ones recorded on 5 visits made to the lake this summer].
