Cogswell 1948 Journal 22 Dec. 18 (contd.) Ring billed Gull - 1 Bonapartes Gull . 1 -Tomales Bay & vicinity, Marin Co., Calif. with Dr. Alden H. Miller, and several members of his ornithology class, plus Mr. & Mrs. Harry Adamson of Berkeley, I arrived at S. end of the bay about 10:00 A.M. (P.S.T.). I rode in Yullion's car with Bob Bailey & the Adamsons. Itinerary was as follows: 1. Brief stop at road junction 1/2 mi. S. St. Regis Station. No coverage except from 1 spot in road. 2.-Drove up W side of bay, stopping at 2 points between Inverness Park & Inverness to look across marshes & So. end of Bay. 3.- Another scanning of bay at Inverness. 4.- Drove to end of road above Shell Beach, turned around & back around So. end of bay and up East side of bay to a landing (+ bar) establishment about .6 mi. SSE of Hamlet. During this driving we noted only such birds as could be recorded from the cars. We ate lunch, and at about 12:30, we rented two boats at this landing. 5. R.W. Stoner, Earl Bowers, Bob Bailey, and I took one boat & rowed out almost to Hog Isd in center of bay opposite the landing.
