Ring billed Gull - 1
Bonapartes Gull . 1
-Tomales Bay & vicinity, Marin Co., Calif.
with Dr. Alden H. Miller, and several members
of his ornithology class, plus Mr. & Mrs. Harry
Adamson of Berkeley, I arrived at S. end
of the bay about 10:00 A.M. (P.S.T.). I rode in
Yullion's car with Bob Bailey & the Adamsons.
Itinerary was as follows:
1. Brief stop at road junction 1/2 mi. S. St. Regis Station.
No coverage except from 1 spot in road.
2.-Drove up W side of bay, stopping at 2 points
between Inverness Park & Inverness to look
across marshes & So. end of Bay.
3.- Another scanning of bay at Inverness.
4.- Drove to end of road above Shell Beach, turned
around & back around So. end of bay and
up East side of bay to a landing (+ bar)
establishment about .6 mi. SSE of Hamlet.
During this driving we noted only such
birds as could be recorded from the cars.
We ate lunch, and at about 12:30, we
rented two boats at this landing.
5. R.W. Stoner, Earl Bowers, Bob Bailey,
and I took one boat & rowed out almost
to Hog Isd in center of bay opposite the landing.
