Cogswell 1949 Odorcoleus columbianus 3. 1. Feb. 13. Tomales Point peninsula, Marin Co., Calif. A count of deer seen from the road enroute from Pierre Ranch headquarters to junction with Rt. Reyes road on Inverness ridge yielded a total of 47. Mar. 6. Keithley Ranch, 3 mi. S. of Lakeport, Lake Co., Calif. A doe with one 1/2 grown fawn was jumped from border of oak grassland area -- they took off down slope into tall brush of a small gully & up thru the protective cover on other side. They seemed quite wild. Many deer tracks & droppings in this area [which is being staked out by group working on Putman Robert. son deer management program].
