Chondestes strigatus.
1.
Feb.22 7 mi. SE of Livermore, att. Alameda Co., Calif.
In a leafless bushy tree by the roadside
at 2nd bridge across Arroyo Mocho there were
at least 3 [illegible] singing (probably several
more) steadily in typical chorus.
I transcribed typical parts of the song
of 1 bird which I had in view at the
time:
0 0 0 0
tweet tweet tweet tweet
treet chit cheen
chip chip chip
mmmmm
R'dr'dr'dr.
(low grating)
chip tweet-up chip chip chip
(as end
of line 1)
These parts were given in all different
sequences. I could write down only about 4 or
5 notes at a time before losing track.
