Poecetes gramineus
Feb.6: approx. 3 mi. W of Bennington, northern Sutter Co. Caly.
One flushed from roadside in area of
orchard trees and seen well (including
white tail feathers, rufous bend of wing,
a streaked breast) as it perched momentarily
on fence wire. It was the only Vesper
seen, although Savannahs were common nearby.
