Mar. 6 Keithley Ranch, 3 mi. S. of Lakeport Lake Co., Calif.
In the chamise & ceanothus chaparral here (at about 'alt.') this is the only species in song. They are obviously already on territory — as many as 3 songs heard from different directions at a time and all are singing steadily (11-12 AM). On the crest of the ridge E of Scott Creek there were 3 singing birds about 50 ft. (between A & B) and 150 ft. (B to C) apart, each on a separate slope.
A silent after we forced him to here.
