Cogswell 1948 Parus rufescens No. 27— Jewell L., Tilden Park, Contra Costa Co., NE of Berkeley, Calif. one heard, and finally seen well enough to see lead patches of dark & white, in willows just S. of pond. Dec. 5 one heard calling “zw-eep” repeatedly from near the same spot as above. Dr. Miller called it down close, by imitating its notes & “squeaking,” to where all of us had a good view of it from all sides.
