Block of 36 flew east across hi- way 29
at a height of about 300 feet in early P.M.
-- approximately 2 mi. S. of Novato -- Marin Co., Calif.
a close flock of at least 80 birds were
feeding on some sort of insects which they
frequently chased by a quick step or two
to the side. This was in dry stubble field
at inland edge of plain sloping up from salt
water estuary. They were accompanied by
a small flock of Euphagus cyanocephalus and
agelaius phoeniceus.
Nov. 21 Upper Lake Ranger Station, Lake Co., Calif.
a straggling flock of about 50 birds
flew up from field area W of upper lake
& went off to the NE just before sunrise.
(morning flight of blackbirds in different
direction: - see agelaius phoeniceus
& Euphagus cyanocephalus).
