logswell 1948 Iridioproene bicolor Dec. 21 - 4-5 mi. E. 1 ½ mi. S. of Port Hueneme Ventura Co. Calif. about 15 were flying over shooting ponds of the Mueria Game Preserve (a gun club) on Caspar Rd. A few are apparently wintering despite the recent severe cold weather. 1949 Mar 6 Keithley Ranch, 3 mi. S. of Lakeport, Lake Co. Calif. at least 5 flew about over ranch headquarters, farms & nearby fields for several minutes at about 8:30, but then disappeared to the N. I think they were migrants just flying enroute [many other swallows sp? were seen during day]. One also over farm pond near Hopland Road.
