Cogswell 1948 Balanophora formicivora Dec. 5 Wildeat C., near Canyon Dr. entrance to Tilken Park, Contra Costa Co., NE of Berkeley, Calif. One flew from trunk of young oaks & uphill to E (toward eucalyptus grove). Dr. A.H. Miller remarked that it must be a wandering bird, since this locality has no resident population of this species, being too much within the coastal fog belt.
