Oct. 31 W. end of Bay Farm Rd., Alameda, Alameda Co., Cal.
(16:05 P.) 2 were flushed repeatedly from area of scattered Salicornia clumps and muddy pools of what must be nearly completely salt water. They flew at about 30-50 ft., usually in quite direct line for snipe, & called “scarpe” frequently.
Many hunters were around; but the snipe once dropped to ground very close to 2 men with guns who were walking along dike.
