Logswell 1948 Porzana carolina Dec 5 - Javell L, Tilden Park, Contra Costa Co, NE of Berkeley, Calif. one seen feeding in narrow area at edge of cat tails by old boat (from which others have watched both this sp. and G. limicola). Another [or someone] seen at a full 10 feet from cat tails at S. end (inlet) of pond, where it foraged near the wilson's snipe. It soon went back into the cat tails, however, leaving the snipe out there alone.
