was perched in top of leafless oak tree on far side of field.
Miss Smith
of Los Gatos, who was present, says that
2 pair are found regularly in this area.
The hovering bird bore no colored bands
at least -- & I believe no bands at all.
June 19. Fort Ord, Monterey Co., Calif. - a pair
were hovering over weedy fields along
highway # 1 between main & So. Gates of
the Mil. Reservation - about 4:00 P.M.
