Cogswell 1948 Releanus erythrorhynchos Dec. 18 Tomales Point, Marin Co., Calif.: at least 5 were resting on small islet off W. side of peninsula. 1 mi. or so from N. end, along with many P. occidentalis, cormorants, etc. R.W. Storer says that he has seen a small group of this species on the same islet on previous trips here. It seems unusual that a few would thus roost separately from its main flock in nearby Tomales Bay -- in such an atypical location for the species.
