Watched from about 6:48 to 7:00 PM. & saw only 14 shearwaters, all well offshore, mostly single !!! a terrific diminution over last night's numbers. Sea is somewhat less choppy tonight, but the main swells are as big as last night. on the way home we checked also the W. side of the point & saw none. Possibly yesterday's flight was of a migratory nature & not merely a daily movement. What one needs to follow these birds, though, is an aquatic helicopter.
