Apr.15 Pacific Grove, Monterey Co., Calif. - In early
a.m. & again in late p.m. I went along the
coast between Asilomar Conference Grounds
& Pt. Pinos. Observations of birds there,
combined with those of occasional intervals
during the day in the pine woodland of the
grounds themselves, are represented in the
following list:
Loon sp? - several
Brown Pelican - "
Brandt's Cormorant - abundant
Belted " - several
Am. Egret - 1 flying North
ward over ocean
Black-c. Night Heron - 2
Surf Scoter - many flying
Red-breasted Merganser - 14, 2990
Turkey Vulture - 1+
Calif. Quail - 1 pr. near
Lighthouse.
Killdeer - several
Black Turnstone - 60+
Hudsonian Curlew - 2
Least Sandpiper - 1000+ est.
