Noteworthly birds included:
Columba fasciata - 1 flock of 130+ over grain
fields [alighted] 2 mi. SE
of Livermore . 40 more seen
in canyon mouth.
Sphyrapicus varius (ruber?) - 1, fully red. beaded,
working on orchard (apple? or ?) trees about
4 mi. SE Livermore [outside of canyon proper]
Zenaida macroura - flock of about 15 flushed
from edge of same orchard.
Chonlestes strigatus - about 5 (or more?) in
dense elderberry at canyon mouth [see sp account]
Sialia mexicana - 12 seen
Quica nuttallii - 2 seen
aquila chrysaetos 1 [see sp acct]
Taxostoma rcdivium - 2 [see sp acct]
sayornis nigricans - 1 heard near stream
well up in steep walled canyon.
