Coggswell 1949 Journal 13. Feb. 13. Point Reyes vicinity, Marin Co., Calif - (cont.) a near uniform lightly grazed pasture on low (to around 300') rolling hills. Some brushy spots in ravines or near a few fences harbored the [illegible]. On the steeper slopes of the actual "Point" near the lighthouse, sea- side "chaparral" of a very low nature is the vegetation, with Luperius arboreus (Stoner) dominating the more protected &. :. more sandy areas. This vegetation ceases abruptly at the fence line separating the Coast Guard property from the Mendoza ranch at the top of the last steep hill before the sea cliff. No extensive coverage of the seaside chaparral was made, but the long sparrows were all heard in it.
