pole along Lafayette - Martinez cut-off
road about 2 1/2 mi. N o 1 mi. W of Walnut Creek.
Mockingbirds were seen at 2 points
along route 24 S.W. of Concord.

The Marsh Creek Road is excellent
oak foothill country, with green grass
now coming up on all the slopes. Mt.
Diablo is still snow covered for about
800 ft. below the peak. We stopped
at a junction of roads some 2 1/2 miles
NE of the peak & watched 3 Golden
eagles [see sp. account].
