Cogswell 1948 37 Journal Dec. 26 (contd). Oregon Junco - 35 (estimated), (mostly in flock around hotel feeding station). Golden-crowned Sparrow - 1 immature. (at edge of chaparral on S. face of "Summit"). Dec. 27- Baldwin Hills in area around La Brea, Slauson, Centinela aves, southwestern Los Angeles, Calif 6:40 - 7:40 A.M. 1:25 - 5:00 P.M. } see below: -Recreation Run Club & Ballona Creek areas, Venice & Playa del Rey, Los Angeles Co., Calif. 8:00 - 8:30 AM ; 9:45 AM - 12:10 PM. 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Ralph Mall & I covered the above 2 areas during the times indicated as our part of the Los Angeles Christmas Bird Count. Altho the count is published in Audubon Field Notes all birds are listed there in one master list ; but since we segregated our count by habitats, it seems worthwhile to record the results here. & The weather was a series of showers approaching from NW every hour or two until early afternoon, when the clear period lasted a bit longer and we got out into the canyon above Holy Cross Cemetery for most of our land birds.
