Christman, G.H. 1960 Calyp te costae 7 April Indian Cave, Joshua Tree Natl Monument, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Discovered a hummingbird nest 3 1/2 ft. f rom ground in a desert willow in the 'jungle' north of camp. at N side of 8' tree, on 1 1/2 - 2" branch. Two white eggs in nest. for photographs of the nest. J Costa on top branches of willow and Yucca mollensis, from 35 to 150 yds. from the nest. A small bird prominent gorget spot was on its lower tilt & on the nest. through the entire throat was a pale cadmium yellow - presumably from the flowers of the bladder pod which are profusely blooming now. > Isomeria arborea Not.
