Westman, J. H.
Sceloporus magister
10 April Puyon Wells, 3,750 ft Riverside Co., Calif.
One seen on 6 ft. high yucca (yucca) with dead top at a distance of 40 yds – it ran down trunk and disappeared down a small shallow bushy wash.
The second one was seen at close range 7 ft. up in a yucca tree (with many branches) where it was flat. Apparently it heard me for it was running down a limb when it turned around, and stopped when it saw me. 22 shot & no. 687.
These two lizards were seen on the Lancea-Yucca alluvial fan ½ mi. N of the mouth of Canyon.
