christman, J.M. 1962 Journal 25 June Strawberry Cr., 8,000 ft., Snake Range, White Pine Co., Nevada also saw what appeared to be a Swift Thrush at a distance. No Gray Flycatchers. Ward & Ron went and hunting up the Oseda Ditch - no response. I have used the pygmy Owl call several times with no response. Saw only one weasel this afternoon? about 8: p.m. we caught one immature weasel in wards improvised anti-freeze can trap. 26 June headed N. from camp along the oseda ditch where it joins the hill in a cercocarpus forest saw a family of almost five juvenile mt. bluebird, collected anc. worked on N. up hill & ridge. Near there is a forest of Cercocarpus, and a minor amount of pinyon all on granite ant traps. The remainder of country is decomposed granite gravel and sage. Chased an Empidomax that said "split-pea" - could not approach into half load range. Saw one rock wren at 500 ft. Worked down slope of hill to NE, across a deer-hunter's jeep road into a thicket cercocarpus forest, into another drainage, with NW exposure. Mean-tailed Tachores, Audubon warblers & chipping sparrows. Shot a "Split-pea" Empidomax (# 916 ) from top of Cercocarpus Worked down to a lush riparian area ½ mile long in this new drainage area. White fir, aspen and a shrub farm tree along stream, with red bark - perhaps an alder? — This riparian area was about 25-75 ft. in
