Christensen, J. W. 1962 Journal 23 June Tharoling Creek, 8,000 ft. Blue Range, White Pine Co. Nevada came & down the hill toward timber. The tree it was in was on the nearby ridge separating a forest from upon sage. After faling around same came down the wooded draw - shot a carpodacus out of an aspen - its hill with framel full of small caterpillas. continued NE to a ridge where & saw over look Sacramento Pass & other ranges to the N and NE. Found little-coned pine on a granite area - rather old individual it appeared from the granated trunks. Down toward camp & flushed a jail rabbit - the first I have seen in the mountains here. On a small aspen grove shot an Audubon warbler. Green-tailed touhees & chipping spansous abundant here on separated slopes - -lads to camp by 12. 24 June Walked up canyon beyond the largerods mastif on N side & then up a side canyon to WNW - shot a house caren on a log in an aspen grove. Followed stream up 1/2 mi. thru aspen grove, sage - little-cone pine & into a fii-aspen forest. Shot a clickdece & a ruby-crowned knight. Went up steep slope of sage to crest of hill (SE)- (NW of camp) the summit has many pines aristata - collected some. Down hill to where I shot miterachers - again I flushed the Blue Grance - it few from a patch of fallen logs & preculiant mungarita - this time. A few down hill & I got one shot at in this time. Went down hill - really not looking for its body when in
