istria, A. M. 1965 sternus vulgaris 11 May U.C. campus, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. with head, large - bill like, & bill below 150t horizon. Frequent pecks at the ground. It was a hard cartoon near to the robins. I hate to think of these hubsters on the lawns. And sitting on already ugly SB, Bill Hamilton at Davis is going to send down some frozen starlings - I want Anne to practice "putting up" skins with this bird and get a bunch into the collection at MVZ. Someday a Selander-Fulston will want a comparative study - after all "J.G" got Passer domesticus in Death Valley! 14 May Ridge Road - Pacific S. Religion: as one time saw one bird singing on top of telephone poles, plus 2 on frons of palms - so this is a colony! 1 June Alta Loma, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Have driven about the Chino area, Ontario upland area a total of five days. Saw in Cucamonga 3 starlings on telephone lines across a road from a row of palms. In Upland saw about 10 feeding on the lawn of Eurlid Ave. in after noon. Although several small groups were seen they were a fraction of 1/4 of the Brewer Blockhills seen. Starlings are here - in yet small numbers
