Journal 22. "Felling Trees" Ponderosa louse whip saw - edge of forest with cut stumps behind & clumps of low brush - can't tell sp. but appears light. 23. "sawing logs" of felled tree into sections - about 4 1/2 - 5' diam. no brush in background but some in foreground - spirea caper - ? several shrubs - Cerricarpus? not manzanita. 24 "Loading logs on Tram" fir forest, horses for short pulls of logs & even for cart carrying log sections - dense firs appear 6' + in diam. little or no underbrush. 25 "Loading of Logs, on Truck" Can't tell sp. very dense forest, no the brush in the foreground with stumps - no brush in background in the forest. Logs twice as high as Ocan. 26 "Shoeing Ox" in pp forest - no underbrush
