Transition Forest - open with squaw super,
old stumps, manganita, and plenty of pine
seedlings - few mature pines - photos 18,19, 20.
4,000 ft going down hill - good pine forest.

27.4 P. saliniana in transition forest, a few thickets
of pure Q. kelloggii
28.1 an open area some grass, shrubs, Q. Kelloggii
saliniana & Libocedrus; Ponderosa on edges

the open & no light competition.

many Q. kelloggii - woodland (confus
& brush & grassy areas minor.
