Gently down hills into a valley of Oaks & impainan, Angus & Hereford cattle to N. 187 Oak reproduction as small bushes & old stumps. A very old house on a lonely hill side & a stream bed of cottonwoods. Open woodland. First Pines saliniana. 189 Woodland areas of beauty, dense reproduction & 100% cover 190.2 A grove of young oaks - 100% cover with P. saliniana and P. ponderosa rain-light photos at turnoff. - [illegible] yds S.of. to E. 8/13 > past turnoff to E. on Jackson cutoff - 200 yds. in ohmic patch for full cover with sprouting shrubs of oaks, and roadside Yerba Santa in full violet bloom. 28/14 15 ~ 2 photos to S. & SE, a fair number of pines here. 191 another turnoff to N chaparal - manzanita, a day sail - with dense cover and old fire history. Jackson Ione clement 143 an old cemetery and Ione shr. 296' This a nice old town of many old houses & Seldon School building *104 toward. An area of cleared woodland and dense woodland on flat land. turnoff to N off of 104 to Sacramento 196 washed & cottonwood grove; n.-b. mappie hills a head of woodland - openclay deposits being washed
