Estuan 1959 Journal 180 Apr. *To Redding an 299 from Burney, Chastato. Cal. 56,653 Sush oab-parbland & herford grazing land-short grass. Oaks on hill smaller & closer together, photos collected sample of a large oak at side of road & meadow. Yellow-billed Magpies no brush here except ant side of the few at side of the road. a Woodland with afew P. saliniiana here. 657 Oak - P. sabiniana, mangarita mosaic in all combinations - hut areas where the marganita is invading the grass under the younger oaks. All of the oaks in this region are of a deciduous species & many are large size. hit #49 & down hill to Sacraments River, and Redding = 6635. more palms; people dress well, a very fine clean city. gas at 4:00 669 up a small hill, P. sabiniana in the valley and large oaks Early this afternoon there were cumulus cloade N of Mt. Burney ; now there are large thunderheads in that region. I have been confused concerning the peaks here. There are two in the east which rise above the horizon and are covered with snow. Apparently the 3 one is [illegible].
