Shasta has been in snow all am.
But Black Butte is behind near hill

The old fire area between Black Butte and the
N. part of town of Mt. Shasta is a good example -
dead pines sticking up above the gray
brush - not very much marganita -
cerascarpus - ?
The pines will not reproduce themselves
here.
This is an easy pass from Shasta valley
past the Butte & into the Sacraments
drainage. But I wander about the
original veg. was it all transition
