This bird was very "tame" and approached us to within 2 m. 7 July New nest #25 (4 eggs) Drum Area. about 6 m. W of Gasoline across from telephone pole 6. New nest #26 (4 eggs) Drum Area. about 90 m. W. of #15 8 July New nest #27 (4 eggs). S of Honey Bucket. Nest #15 lost all its eggs. When I found nest #27 there was guaranteed no second bird around, this i conviction with my note of 2 July. The female of nest #1 flushed right by my feet and kept close to me. She did this long enough so I could take a picture of her at a distance of 60 cm. 9 July New nest #29 (2 eggs). 68 m. W. of telephone pole 20 or Drum Area. 10 July Nest #3 hatched, and #1 not yet. On our hike to the Point I saw one Baird south of the abandoned village where there is some timber. This was only shore bird seen. 11 July Checked nests on the Drum Area. #2-3 eggs, #17-4 eggs, #9 Hatched, #8 4 eggs, #26 4 eggs, #27 4 eggs, #16 3v/1e, #28 -2 eggs
