Chattin 1941 Itinerary Jan. 7 (cont) 4 mi. S Gadsden, 120 ft, Yuma Co, Ariz. 2 Nestoma albipile. 1 Ondatra was caught in steel trap set in burrow along canal bank. A line of 11 gopher traps was set out along canal bank and in alfalfa field. 10 Thomomy were taken during latter part of the day and skinned. Jan. 8. a.m. Gopher traps were taken up and reset 7 Thomomys were taken. Several more gophers were taken during day. 3 steel sets were made along canal bank and in heavy brush along a drainage canal. In the afternoon a line of 60 traps were set on the mesa for Dipodomys. Jan. 9. a.m. Trap line (mouse traps) were picked up. Catch consisted of 4 D. deserti and 2 D. zerrisimic. 5 Thomomys were caught in gopher sets. 1 Nestoma and 1 Ondatra were taken in steel traps (the wood rat being cought in an old muskrat burrow). Jan. 10 - Skinned Ondatra trapped by Schley along canal bank. Camp was moved to California side of the river to Borrego Valley at 5 mi. N W Borrego P.O., 700 ft, San Diego Co, Calif. 60 traps were set out after dark on sandy alluvial fan. Vegetation is of creosote brush, and Fransenia dumosa with some scattered Ochotillo and Cholla cactus. Trap line was
