Batten, J.E. 1939 Itinerary 1 mi. N Burbank, 350 ft., Walla Walla Co., Wash. out 40 traps at locality designated as July 21 8 mi. ENE Pasco 650ft, Franklin Co., Wash. Traps were set 15 paces apart along the edge of a long sand dune. Soil very sandy + dry. Vegetation consisting of sagebrush + cheat grass principally. 50 more mouse traps were set at 5 mi. ENE Pasco, 500ft, Franklin Co., Wash. in sagebrush and cheat grass. Soil slightly harder and not so sandy. July 22 (A.M.) - picked up traps - Results from 5 mi ENE Pasco, 500 ft, Franklin Co., Wash. 21 Perognathus parvus (15♀ 6♂) 2 Pitophis catenifer at 8 mi. ENE Pasco, 650ft, Franklin Co., Wash in 40 traps caught 26 Perognathus parvus (17♂ 9♀) at 7:45 A.M. saw Crotalus scitch which was shot by Longhurst. Snake about 6 ft distant when 1st observed, it rattled and then crawled in under small bank where it was shot. 10 Sceloporus were shot before returning to camp. July 22 (PM) went out to locality at 3½ mi. W Kennewick, 550ft, Benton Co., Wash. and set 1 gopher set and 20 mouse traps along edge of cultivated field.
