Lattin, J.E. 1939 Itinerary Blalock Island, 250 ft, Benton Co., Wash. July 19 1 Dipodomys ordii (unable to determine sex) 1st Peromyscus maniculatus. 13 Perognathus parvus. [9 F 4 ?] 10 Sceloporus were shot before returning to camp. Several Geos californicus were seen on the island and skeletons were noted on the ground. The Dipodomys taken was torn and the viscera and leg muscles had been stripped out by some animal, possibly an owl. 1 Perognathus showed signs of having been swallowed by a snake and the trap had been carried for 3yds from original position. Birds on the island include Kildeer, Magpie, Cormorant, Jello, Black Capped Wren, Western Robin, - a dead Canada Goose was observed near the river bank. Beaver working was observed in the willows near the edge of the river. July 20 2 1/2 mi. SW Irrigon 300ft., Morrow Co., Oregon J. Davis, R. Hoffmeister, D.S. Johnson and I left camp at Patterson at 4:30 P.M. and ferried across the Columbia River and drove to the town of Irrigon. 2 gopher traps were set in a hay field in sandy soil at Irrigon and then the party drove to present locality.
