lton, J.E. 1939 Itinerary Twin Buttes 4300ft. Skamania Co. Wash. July 12 (cont'd) one side of the animal I shot it in the right side with .410 amp. at distance ? about 12-15 ft. When shot the animal jumped and moved down the log a short ways, then fell off the side and crawled under the log. After 20/3 minutes the animal died and was carried out to the road. - 6 P.M. - set out 8 mouse traps near edge of small stream. Returned to camp and drove down and hauled porkfine to camp. July 13 (7:30 A.M.) - Checked up mouse traps & Aferontia traps and goher traps. Trap results .. 1 Clethronomys} 1 zapus. 1 Thommys. { freq. D.F. Hoffmister found rat trap with F.C. lateralis (PM) - Broke camp shortly before noon and started back toward White Salmon Wash. Along the way, 1 mi. SE Sawtooth Mtn., 4200ft. Skamania Co. Wash. The party stopped at a large rock slide to shoot pikas. At 12:30 P.M I shot a pika as it came out of the rocks toward a higher group of rocks. The slides of rock are
