July 10 (cont'd) timber with thick undergrowth of herbaceous plants near the edge of a small stream. - Several Aplodontia burrows were noted in the vicinity. Going on downstream an open clearing was found which was covered with coarse grass and bordered by willows and thick brush. The soil was very wet and covered with water in many places. Here several young toads and frogs were caught. Small toads were very numerous and the spot seemed to be a good breeding place and possibly one of the centers of dispersal from which the toads noted on the higher slopes may come. 6 P.M.- returned to Tillamuck Camp Grounds and then went on up to Saddle Camp where a base of operations was set up. - Set out 60 Tomoan traps 10paces apart in open grass, brush and by rotten logs and under small trees. July 11 (7 A.M.) Caught in traps; 3 Peromyscus ? 2 & 1? 1 Zapua ? (7:30 A.M.) Thal D Citellus lateralis on
