Rattin, J.E. 1939 Itinerary Lee Cave, ft. 5 mi. Euler, in Skamania Co., Wash. July 9 - P.M. - Set out 55 traps in fairly open stands of yellow pine, Douglas fir, Western larch and White fir. Ground cover consists mainly of wild strawberry plants and short grass which is fairly dry. Traps were set about 8 yds. apart beside fallen logs, at the bases of large trees and in the open grassy spaces between trees. July 10 Results of trapping - 3 Peromyscus 2 M / F 1 Zapus ♀ 1 Junco At 9:50 A.M. a Sciurus douglasii was shot about 15 ft up from the base of a large Douglas fir. The animal was approached to within about 8 yds. - At 10:10 A.M. a ? Eutamias townsendii was shot as it was sitting on the roots of a fallen tree. At noon the party left for Mosquito Lake.
