Itinerary
1939
Brooks Meadow, Hood River Co., Oregon
July 8 - at 6:10 A.M. - 1 Lepus Washingtonii was shot under a Douglas fir in herbaceous undergrowth. Rabbit was 8 yds distant when shot with .410mg. When first seen was only about 3 yds away, but hopped only a short distance where it stopped and was shot.
July 8 - Hood River, Hood River Co., Oregon
Party broke camp at Brooks Meadow shortly after 3 P.M. (July 8) and travelled back to Hood River. At Hood River the truck was left at a garage for repairs.
July 9 - Last night bed rolls were taken from the truck and the car was taken 2 mi. E Hood River, Oregon where we spent the night. At 8:10 A.M. July 9 a garter snake was caught along the railroad right of way. Late in the afternoon, the truck not required as yet, the party took bed rolls in the car and travelled across the White Salmon - Hood River bridge over the Columbia River to the town of White Salmon. From here highway 8 D was taken to Lauder where we had supper. From here we went to Ice Cave
