Bullock Oriole, Night Hawk, Spotted Sandpiper
Chickadee, Crow, Raven, Flicker,
Longtailed Chat, White Crowned Sparrow.
July 3
5:10 P.M. - Caught Gopher snake in
act of swallowing a gopher which
had been caught in gopher set. The
snake had swallowed the gopher
to the shoulder region but when
disturbed it stopped feeding and
attempted to escape by crawling
into the gopher tunnel.

2 gopher traps set in light
sandy loam in alfalfa field.
47 mouse traps set about 10
yds. apart along the edge of an
alfalfa field; along edge of a
grape vineyard below a dry
rye patch, and also some traps
set on the side hill above the
rye patch in rocky land with
cheat grass & sagebrush.
7:15 P.M. Caught gopher in trap
set about 1 hr. 30 min. earlier
the same evening.
July 4 (A.M) Trap Results:
1 G Perognathus above rye patch
