July 1 cont'd situations and in dry chest grass (?) near sagebrush plants. Results - total of 4 specimens.
2 Peromyscus maniculatus (both ♂)

July 2 Columbia R at mouth Deschutes R. 300 ft. Sherman Co. Oregon
35 mouse traps set out along fence line at the edge of a pasture about 15 yds from the edge Deschutes river. 4 gopher traps set in sandy ground three the pasture.
Results 6 Reithrodontomys megalotis all ♂
3 Thomomys talpoides all ♀
1 Mus musculus ♀
2 Melospiza melodia also caught in mouse traps.
At 9:00 P.M a bat (Eptesicus fuscus) was shot at the edge of the river. Bat was only slightly wounded and is still alive (7:20 P.M.)
July 3 Set out 48 mouse traps 15 faces apart along edge of alfalfa field and along edge of willow thickset
3 gopher traps set out in pasture in sandy ground. Results.
