Chattin[illegible] 1940 Itinerary Old Fort Clatsop, 100 ft. Clatsop Co., Oregon Aug 20 (erased) frowbridgii. Traps around spring contained 7 Peromyscus, 1 Zapus, 1 Sorex obscurus, 4 Sorex vagrans, and 1 Neurotrichus gibbsi. 1 Hypodontia was caught in steel trap. p.m.. Traps in riverbottom inspected. They contained 1 Microtus, 1 Neurotrichus, 1 Sorex obscurus and 2 Sorex frowbridgii. 3 Myotis were shot between 7:35 and 7:50p.m. Aug 21 - a.m. - Inspected and reset traps. Traps in riverbottomland contained 2 Sorex obscurus, 1 Sorex frowbridgii and 1 Neurotrichus gibbsi. Traps around spring contained 2 Peromyscus, 1 Sorex frowbridgii and 2 Sorex vagrans. 1 Eutamias townsendii was caught in Hypodontia burrow. 1 juvenile Hypodontia was also caught in steel traps.. 1 Scapanus was caught by hand as it was working in bentgrass on surface of ground. 1 Myotis was shot at 7:40 p.m. Aug 22 q.m. Inspected and reset traps in river bottom land. They contained 2 Neurotrichus gibbsi, 2 Microtus townsendii, 1 Microtus oregoni, 1 Sorex frowbridgii. Trap line around spring was taken up. It contained 2 Sorex vagrans, 1 Sorex frowbridgii and 2 Peromyscus. - Steel traps were also taken up. p.m. - 40 traps were set out in underground
