Chattin\n1940\nItinerary\nAug 3\nUntil.\n3 1/4 mi. E and 1 1/2 mi. N Amboy, 350 ft., Clark Co. Washington\ncontaining sedge and clover and\nyoung alder and wine maple with\nground cover of camas. These traps\nwere also baited with walnut\nmeats and set about 5 yds apart.\nSome burrows were evident\nand traps were set near them but\nthe area does not look as favorable\nas the one where the spring and boggy\narea is. After dark 2 Myotis were\nshot at 3 1/2 mi. E and 5 mi. N Yacolt, 500 ft., Clark Co. Wash.\nAug 4- a.m. 40 traps set at 1 1/4 mi. ENE Amboy,\n350 ft., were taken up. Catch in this\ntrap line consisted of - 2 Sorex vagrans,\ncaught near water's edge) - 1 Sorex bendirii\n(caught at edge of spring) - 3 Zapus (caught\nwithin 3 yds of water) - 4 Microtus townsendii?\n(2 young and 2 adults - caught at edge of water).\n20 traps set at 3 1/4 mi. E and 1 1/2 mi. N Amboy,\n350 ft., - were also taken up. Catch in\nthis line consisted of 1 Sorex trowbridgii;\n(caught in "pure stand" of camas on wet\nboggy ground) - 2 juvenile Peromyscus\nand 1 Zapus (caught in grass with some\ncamas and fallen logs over grown with\nmoss nearby - 3 yds from running\nwater.
