Chatting 1940 Itinerary 1 1/4 mi. ENE Amboy 350 ft., Clark Co. Washington meadow. Trails and tracks and feces were apparent in wet mud along creek. 1 Microtus was seen while traps were being set. Aug 2 (cont) Aug 3. - a.m. Picked up trap line which contained 1 Sorex vagrans - 3 Sorex bendirii? (caught near edge of creek) - 4 Zapus (caught both in open sets and at places where burrows had been excavated). - 1 Neurotrichus (caught in trap set in runway which I uncovered beneath mass) and 2 Microtus (caught at edge of water, one actually in the water). - This catch is the best of the trip to date, the cause probably being due to existence of very heavy cover and permanent source of water which
