July 25 (Sat.)
Citellus beecheyi and 3 Eutamias townsendii in logged off clearing.
In p.m. - set out 40 mouse traps baited with raisins. Traps were set 3-6yds apart in creek bed which at present is dry but former moisture has permitted heavy growth of bracken and short grass which has been somewhat grazed by stock. Steel traps were inspected and 17 Aploodontia was caught and 15 Clethrionomys was caught in Aploodontia burrow in Schuyler rat trap baited with apple. Light rain fell during p.m. and all thru night.
July 26
Rain continued to fall throughout most of day. Traps set yesterday were looked at and contained 3 Neurotrichus, 3 Zapus, 1 Microtus and 1 Mus musculos. 17 Aploodontia sets contained nothing.
In p.m. - weather cleared slightly and several (about 15) traps were moved to better looking spots in the line. - At 8:25 p.m. a ? Lasionycteris was shot flying over open clearing near edge of creek.
July 27
Traps were inspected in a.m. contained 1 Sorex bendirei, Zapus caught along creek three logged area. In line in dry creek and meadow 1 Microtus was caught. The traps
