Jan 5
Gambel Quail in sandy wash
with Arrowweed and Creosote bush.
- After dark we returned to
camp at 5 mi S Palo Verdi
10 small mouse traps were
set out along arrow weed thicket
at edge of sloughs and 10 others
set out in sandy soil in a
wash. Feed was put up in evening.
Jan 6.
7 A.M. - In traps in wash were
cought 2 Perognathus spincillatus (1M/1F)
12 Reithrodonomys 1F Peromyscus
2F Dipodomys - In the traps along
the sloughs were caught 5 Peromyscus
(4M/1F) 2F Mus musculus. Moved to
400 ft. 6mi. N Midway Well, Imperial Co. Calif.
Jan 10
Caught 3 Uta in dry wash.
Moved camp to locality.
150 ft., 2 mi SW Potholes, Imperial Co. Calif.
Jan 11
Looked up camp of W.J. Wood here
who took us to an old mine
shaft where we caught several
Macrotus californicus - (all M's) and shot
3 Uta sp? 3 gopher sets put out.

Together Longhurst and I set
out 24 live traps for Seginodm.
Traps were set in thicks
