J. Chattin Clethrionomys gapperi Twin Buttes P.S., 3900 ft., 3 mi. WSW Steamboat Mtn, Skamania Co., Wash. July 10 (4:25 P.M.) - caught a live C. gapperi at base of a large fallen log surrounded by heavy timber and thick herbaceous undergrowth, about 5 yds. from small stream. Tree had been uprooted and dirt and roots at the base contained several burrows. July 11 - traps set in and around place where mouse was caught failed to catch more of same kind. July 27 Staya White Spring, 5150 ft., Columbia Co., Wash. 1 specimen caught in 50 traps set along edge of stream in herbaceous growth and brush. - Specimen was caught in trap a few inches from edge of stream near half buried log.
